Every New Yorker needs to escape the city every now and again, and when you hear about an opportunity like Trybal Gatherings, a Jewish camp experience for adults, I don’t think you initially plan on meeting your soul mate on the bus there. Especially after you’re sitting in a broken bus seat and the guy behind you happens to be Jason, the nicest and kindest guy who also happens to be well over 6 feet tall. While Maddie’s seat may have been the reason for their meet cute, it was from there on out that they got a chance to check in to camp together and the rest is pretty much history.

Maddie and Jason are two of the most caring people I know. Their journey to this past weekend really tested their relationship through health challenges and the beginning months of the pandemic in NYC. And even through the early morning of their wedding day as everyone tried to hold out as long as they could to make the decision final about their rooftop wedding at The William Vale. Unfortunately, rain may have had it’s own ideas of what their day looked like but by no means was there any less love in that room when they promised forever to each other. Jason, a passionate hobbyist in blacksmithing, even made their rings that they will use forever to each other. The chuppah was beyond STUNNING and beautifully designed by Designs by Ahn. I’m pretty sure I heard a gasp from every single person that walked in when they first saw it. And that was really just a sneak peek into the beautiful reception that was awaiting guests just downstairs.

Maddie and Jason are the epitome of joy. There were so many times I would catch Jason beaming with his infectious smile just looking in awe at Maddie. And the laugh that would inevitably come out of Maddie each time Jason made her giggle…I can still hear it now as I type this.

I am so humbled to have been in a room where the two final kids of each of their families got married. This celebration was one for the books!
